Wheatland Title representatives will be at the Career and Internship Fair at Aurora University on March 14. We are thrilled to be one of more than 80 employers meeting with students that day. If you are an AU student, we’d love to talk to you about why you may be a great fit for a job in the real estate title industry now or in the future.
The event, which is only open to AU students, is from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. We can’t wait to meet with some of you! Whether you’re a student or not, if you stumbled across this blog, you may be wondering if there’s a job in title for you. Our answer: Probably, and here’s why. (Especially if you’re a history, finance, business or marketing major who loves being a problem solver.)
There’s a role for everyone. Title is a varied industry, meaning there is a role for everyone. You don’t have to force yourself into a role that you won’t be satisfied in. Simply start with your personality and what you like to do, and you’ll find a role that’s a good fit.
You’ll get to grow through apprenticeship. Since title work is unique, learning the craft can seem complex. Plus, it always takes some time. However, you will not be left in the dark when learning to take on a title role. The field is built upon an apprenticeship approach in training, so you’ll get to work closely with expert professionals. In addition to having someone by your side to answer all of your questions, you’ll be building a strong mentor-mentee relationship.
You may already have the skills to thrive. Your skills from a different industry that are transferable to title. No matter what role you are looking into, an openness to learning is one of the most important traits since the title industry is based on experiential learning and apprenticeship. Other essential traits include reliability, effective communication, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
